Dad’s Hat Rye Releases Their 3+ Year Old Rye Whiskey

Posted on Comments Off on Dad’s Hat Rye Releases Their 3+ Year Old Rye Whiskey

Dad’s Hat Rye Whiskey Distillery in Bristol,PA is one of the only distilleries to commit to a single spirit- rye whiskey.  Their commitment to quality and to the use of local grains has helped firmly plant them in the craft spirits pantheon both.  Founded on 2011, their head distiller, Herman Mihalich has been honing his barrel aged products for 6 years now, and he has finally achieved his ideal straight rye.  At just about 3 1/2 years old, this spicy whiskey is a beautiful and delicious achievement!

The base spirit is made from 80% locally sourced rye grain (from Riegelsville, Pa), 15% malted barley and 5% malted rye.  There is no corn added, just as the original Monongahela style ryes were historically produced in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is Pennsylvania rye as is should be.  Don’t miss the opportunity to try this because it is not yet available in stores.
