Linda and John Lipman

whiskey historians, bloggers

John and Linda Lipman are American Whiskey Enthusiasts that have been collecting and writing about American Whiskey since 1998.  Their website ELLENJAYE.COM (“L”inda and “J”ohn) has been a source of information on the History of American Whiskey and the great people they have met throughout their travels.

The Lipmans began traveling to Kentucky’s distilleries in the late 90’s, then to long-abandoned distillery sites throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland looking for parts of Whiskey’s past.

In the past ten years, new distilleries have begun popping up like dandelions on the front lawn. Unlike modern blogs, ELLENJAYE.com doesn’t try to keep up with them. For one thing, they can’t; the website is written in dinosaur code and doesn’t invite new additions easily. Besides, also popping up are dozens of blog writers and “brand fans” who do that sort of thing much, much better, and that’s OK with John and Linda, they are comfortable with being fans of American Whiskey.

    Pennsylvania Spirits Convention

Held March 23rd at Citizens Bank in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Spirits Convention, we celebrate Pennsylvania’s distilling past, present and future! Cocktail artists will craft cocktails with spirits made by PA’s newest and most innovative distilleries.
